Often in our daily lives swear words are used when we are angry or when bad things happen. We used it to swear on someone or something, usually in a bad way. What if it is put into use sarcastically?
Hence, I have camouflaged the swear words into blessings to people, whereas it’s actually still insulting them. I have designed the words to apply into angpow designs because angpows are normally given as a blessing. The swear words have literal and actual meanings, where the literal meanings are different and less harsh. Hence, I chose Cantonese profanity to explore because it is one of my mother tongue and commonly used in Malaysia as well. Now, let’s start giving out the angpows!
Inside each of the angpow, a flash card is present. The purpose of it is to reveal the meanings of the swear words, educating the audience at the same time.
